Matching food and wine doesn’t have to mean fancy dinners out. The humble, starch-based snack can teach us a thing or two about how different flavours can really make wine sing. Join us for a tasting with The Beach Sommelier, a self-confessed crisp fanatic, who will guide you through five of her favourite high-low pairings. At the end, you’ll get to vote on your favourite.

The Beach Sommelier is Paola Tich, a Deal-based wine expert who loves nothing more than pouring delicious wines for people to try, while talking about the journey from grape to glass. In 2024, she sold her award-winning West London wine shop and bar to move down to the Kent coast. Paola now does tours and tastings at a vineyard near Rye, pours at a wine bar in Sandgate, and helps organise a summer wine festival at Battersea Power Station.
